Grand Coaching Journal

About

Grand Coaching Journal is an independent editorial publication about coaching practice for personal goals. It is for curious readers, coaches and people considering a coaching conversation who want to understand how useful agreements, questions, experiments and reflection can work.

The ground we cover

We explore the shape of a coaching conversation: how its purpose is agreed, what makes a question worth asking, how an idea can become a small experiment, and what a thoughtful review might notice. We also look at the parts that are easy to skip, such as expectations, boundaries and what happens between conversations.

A useful next step, not a promised result

Coaching is not a formula, and a conversation cannot guarantee a particular outcome. We explain ideas in plain English, offer examples as illustrations rather than universal rules, and make room for approaches that do not work on the first attempt. Readers remain responsible for their own choices and circumstances.

Who this is for

The publication is for people interested in coaching as a way to think through personal goals, as well as coaches who want to examine their practice. Our coverage is editorial and educational; it is not a substitute for specialist support where that is needed.

Our point of view

A conversation is a start, not a verdict.

Coaching is not a magic prompt or a perfect plan. We look at the agreements, questions and follow-through that make a conversation useful, while leaving the choices with the person doing the work.
